pyjou is published by Selenite Labs. The privacy of your dreams is central to its design. This policy explains what data is processed, how, and by which third parties.

Principle: your dreams stay on your device

Your dreams, notes, tags and recordings are stored locally on your iPhone. On Apple Intelligence-capable devices, AI analysis runs entirely on-device: no dream content is ever sent to a server.

Cloud AI (devices without Apple Intelligence)

Only when your device cannot run Apple Intelligence, the text of the dreams concerned is sent, through our relay server, to the AI provider to produce the result: the analysis of your first dream, the automatic sorting of a dictated dream (emotions, places, themes), and, with Premium, the analysis of each dream, recurring patterns and the weekly review. This content is not retained beyond processing the request and is not used to train models.

Dream cards

To draw a dream card (Premium), only a short visual description (for example "a calm sea, a kite") is sent, through our relay server, to Google to generate the image. Your dream text, places and people never leave your phone. Nothing is retained or used to train models. This send has its own consent, asked before your first card.

Nothing is transmitted without your consent. Before the first send, the app shows a screen naming the provider (Anthropic) and spelling out what is sent and what is not retained; the analysis only starts if you agree. You can withdraw that consent at any time in Settings › Privacy › AI analysis, after which nothing leaves your device.

Third parties

  • Anthropic — AI model provider for cloud analysis. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
  • Google — generates dream-card images from a short visual description. See Google's policy.
  • TelemetryDeck — anonymous usage statistics (which screens are used, never what you write in them), with no advertising identifier or tracking. See TelemetryDeck's policy.
  • Cloudflare — hosts our relay server (Workers) and stores only technical counters (quota, anti-abuse), not dream content. See Cloudflare's policy.
  • RevenueCat — manages and verifies your subscription status. See RevenueCat's policy.
  • Apple — App Store, in-app purchases (StoreKit) and App Attest (to ensure only genuine app instances reach the server). See Apple's policy.

What we do not do

  • No resale of your personal data.
  • No ad tracking, no marketing profiling.
  • No account required to use the journal.
  • Your companion, its hazelnuts and its glade are stored on your iPhone, like your journal.

Your rights & your data

You can export your dreams (PDF, backup) and delete them anytime from the app. Deleting the app removes local data. For any request regarding your data, email support@selenitelabs.com.
